Synopsis: [?] [From The Moving Picture World]? John Hart, well-known bachelor-of-means, returns home to find his ward and secretary planning to secure his money after driving out the girl whom he had protected from her criminal companions and taken into his home. Elsie, the tool of crooks, had attempted to burglarize his home and he had caught her. Realizing her career was not of her own choosing, he had taken her into his home, and despite the efforts of his ward Julia and his secretary to drive her out, had believed in her. He escapes unhurt from a terrible railroad wreck, and without denying the report of his death, quietly returns home. There he overhears a crook trying to blackmail the secretary and Julia for trying to fasten a robbery on Elsie. Elsie enters at this moment and Hart bursts in the door. After a sharp fight, during which Elsie calls the police in time to save Hart's life, the crook and the secretary are subdued and arrested. Hart then orders Julia to leave his home forever, and asks Elsie to remain as his wife.

Survival status: The film is presumed lost.
