Synopsis: [?] [From The Moving Picture World]? Young Mrs. Bagley, wife of a middle-aged doctor, starts a flirtation with Falkner, whom she meets at a friend’s house. Falkner takes it seriously and proposes an elopement. She treats the proposal lightly, and is horrified when, at the appointed hour, he bursts into her boudoir. The doctor returns from a professional call, and Falkner is trapped. To save the situation he pretends to have come for medical advice. The doctor, who is aware of the flirtation, determines to use the force of suggestion. “Your heart valves are worn out,” he tells the astonished man. “The hand of death is on you.” Terrified, Falkner leaves the house, and convinced that he is doomed to a horrible end, fulfills the doctor’s vengeance by committing suicide.
