Married Margaret Kinsella, 1946; until Richard’s death, 28 March 1976.

Richard Arlen began in motion pictures as an extra in 1923. Having served as a noncombat pilot for the Royal Canadian Flying Corps during World War I, Arlen was a natural choice as one of the stars of Wings (1927).
