André Beranger

André Beranger began acting on stage in Australia at age 16 in a repertory production of Othello. After imigrating to the United States, he started film work for Biograph, acting under the direction of D.W. Griffith. Beranger, who began film acting credited as George Beranger, worked for Komic in 1914, and for Majestic Motion Picture Company circa 1915. Beranger tried his hand at film direction in the late 1910s. Beranger’s film acting continued into the 1920s with his appearances for Warner Brothers in 1924, Famous Players-Lasky Corporation in 1925, for Feature Productions, Incorporated, in 1926, and for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Corporation in 1927.
