Lena Basquette began film work in 1916 at the age of nine for The Universal Film Manufacturing Company, Incorporated (1916-1917). Lena made only two other films in 1919 and 1922 before she joined the Ziegfield Follies in 1923, which led to her professional name change to Lina Basquette. Her marriage to film executive Sam Warner meant temporary retirement from work, but her decision to return to motion picture acting predated Warner’s death since Ranger of the North (1927) was released only four days after his passing.

Lina appeared in silent era film productions by Robertson-Cole Pictures Corporation (1927), Cecil B. DeMille Productions (1928), First National Pictures, Incorporated (1928), Pathé Exchange, Incorporated (1928), Columbia Pictures Corporation (1929), and Universal Pictures Corporation (1929).
