Madge Bellamy

Born 30 June 1899 in Hillsboro, Texas, USA, as Margaret Derden Philpott.
Died 24 January 1990 in Upland, California, USA, of heart failure.

Married stockbroker Logan Metcalf, 1928; separated less than three days later; divorced, 1928.

Madge Bellamy appeared in Lorna Doone (1922) for Thomas H. Ince Corporation. She worked for Palmer Photoplay Corporation in 1924, and began contract work for Fox Film Corporation, appearing as the female lead in The Iron Horse (1924) and Mother Knows Best (1928), among other films.

In 1943, Madge shot millionaire A. Stanford Murphy after his rejection of her in order to marry another woman.
