Yakov Gubanov

Yakov Gubanov is an associate professor at Berklee College of Music. A native of the Ukraine, he was a student of Shostakovich before moving to the USA. He improvises his performances after extensive research into the background of the film, resulting in a rich, unpredictable, exciting performance that extends from a highly personal reading of the film.
