The Ritz Theatre was a first-run house. The theatre opened with a presentation of My Official Wife (1926).

William Fox acquired a controlling interest in West Coast Theatres in 1929, and the theatre was operated by Fox West Coast Theatres as the Fox Ritz. The venue was subsequently remodeled and the seating capacity reduced to 1402. The theatre was closed in the 1950s, and was subsequently used by producer Mike Todd for a screening venue. The building was demolished in 1977.
