Anzier Theatre opened in 1925 in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, which was notable as it was an African-American owned business. The venue was later renamed the Gala Theatre; which eventually closed in 1941.

On 27 December 1942, the theatre reopened as the Savoy Ballroom by entrepreneur Lemuel Honeysuckle as a music venue. As a member of The Bumps Blackwell Junior Band, a young Quincy Jones played several times at the Savoy in the mid-1940s.

The venue would later be renamed the Eastside Hall and later again, Birdland. The building was demolished in 1965.
