Arrow Comedies
Volume 1
(1922-1924)

Contents: The Fast Mail-Man (1922), Keep Moving (1922), Hello Bill! (1923), No Danger (1923), Love (1924) and Raisin-Trouble! (1924).

This collection of scarce comedy shorts released by Arrow Film Corporation presents films starring Eddie Lyons, Bobby Dunn, Billy West and Jack Cooper. Note that the rival in Love is not Oliver Hardy, as was often the case with 1920s Billy West comedies, but is — instead — Hilliard ‘Fat’ Karr, and features a West rarely-seen outside of his pseudo-Chaplin persona.

This DVD-R collection features an abridgement of Keep Moving (1922) presented from a new video transfer of a 16mm reduction print (11 minutes), and Hello Bill! (1923) from an existing video transfer, with newly-replaced titles. The Fast Mail-Man (1922) has been compiled from three different existing video sources to present as complete a home video version of the film as possible. Raisin-Trouble! (1924) is presented in a complete version from an existing video product (reel one) and a new video transfer (reel two) from a 16mm Kodascope reduction print.

As extras, a couple of abridged shorts are offered: a truncated version of No Danger (1923) that has been newly-transferred from a 16mm reduction print (6.5 minutes), and Love (1924) in a shortened version from a new transfer of a 16mm reduction print (6 minutes). All of the shorts are accompanied by restored 78 RPM recordings.
