Video producer David Shepard has released this DVD collection of Max Linder comedies including a complete presentation of Seven Years’ Bad Luck (1921), the French shorts Troubles of a Grasswidower (1912), Love’s Surprises (1913), Max Takes a Picture (1913) and Max Sets the Style (1914), and excerpts from Be My Wife (1921).

The disc features an ensemble musical accompaniment arranged, composed and conducted by Robert Israel, and performed on period instruments.

This is our recommended home video edition of Seven Years’ Bad Luck.
