Died 8 August 1958 in Montréal, Québec, Canada, possible suicide.

Daughter of actor Richard Bennett and actress Adrienne Morrison;
sister of actress Constance Bennett and actress Joan Bennett.

Married singer/actor Morton Downey, 28 January 1929; son, Sean Morton Downey Jr., born 9 December 1933;
daughter, Lorelle Ann Downey; three other children; divorced 4 June 1941.
Married Jack Randall, 7 June 1941, until his death, 16 July 1945.
Married Laurent Surprenant in 1954, until her death, 8 August 1958.

Barbara Bennett began as film extra in her father’s films. Became stage dancer.
