Died 7 December 1990 in Scarsdale, New York.

Daughter of actor Richard Bennett and actress Adrienne Morrison;
sister of actress Constance Bennett and actress Barbara Bennett.

Married John Marion Fox, 15 September 1926, at St. Luke’s Church in London, England, United Kingdom;
daughter, Adrienne Ralston Fox, born 20 February 1928; divorced, August 1928.
Married screenwriter Gene Markey, 12 March 1932, at the Town House apartment hotel in Hollywood, California, USA; daughter, Melinda Markey, born 27 February 1934; divorced.
Married producer Walter Wanger; daughter, Shelley Wanger.

Joan Bennett’s first stage appearance was in the stage production of Damaged Goods, starring her father Richard Bennett, at Chicago in 1914. Her first film appearance was as a pageboy in The Eternal City (1923). Her serious acting career began in 1928 and continued throughout her life.
